STAR VII
They reunited at night and continued their journey the following day. The stop at the village gave them encouragement. They were calm, feeling a peaceful excitement.
‘Have you thought about it?’ Melchior asked. ‘Have you thought about what we will do with the story?’
‘I want to live it first,’ Balthazar answered.
Bethlehem was close. Although they didn’t have a map, they knew where they were going, as if they lived just around the corner. A couple of hours before their arrival, they made a quick stop. They couldn’t stop looking at each other’s eyes. It was not just tears. It was something else that their eyes were experiencing.
Balthazar hugged his companions, and then he said:
‘A child was born. Can you feel it?’
‘Here…’ Melchior said, pointing to his heart.
Gaspar began to sing:
Trust your heart, little one.
Always trust your heart to see the world
because your heart is the world
and I am your heart.
‘I made up this song when I was a child,’ Gaspar added at the end, and right after saying it, he observed a moment of silence, and he understood.
He was a child again.
The Son of God was everywhere.
