CHARLOTTE II

‘Hello?’, a voice came from the other side…

Charlotte made a pause. The light was still too bright, and her eyes were trying to adjust. The state of confusion was thorough.

‘I am Charlotte,’ she said.

‘I know who you are… welcome, Charlotte’, the voice answered. ‘I remember my first time here. I was not able to see at first. But trust me, there is no danger here. It would be best if you came out of the elevator. It won’t get you anywhere else.’

The voice sounded familiar to Charlotte, but she was in such a state of confusion that she couldn’t pinpoint who she was talking to. She made a step forward and walked towards the door. It took her a couple of minutes to walk out of the elevator. An instant later, the vision of her eyes became more precise. At first, she was able to recognize shapes and forms. Then she recovered the ability to see colors. And her full sight’s capacity became evident when she realized she was inside a cozy wooden cabin full of plants. The pure sound of nature was all around her. The air was fresh. She felt safe.

A man walked towards her, and Charlotte recognized him right away. It was the second-hand bookseller.

‘My name is Charles’, he said.

‘Hi…’

‘Don’t be shy. I understand how you are feeling right now. It is your first time in an intraterrestrial city, right? I remember my first time. I was your age, maybe a little bit younger. I was so confused.’

‘Am I dreaming?’ Charlotte interrupted.

‘No, you are not exactly dreaming. You did enter a different dimension, though.’

‘What is an intraterrestrial city?’ she asked anxiously.

‘Well, let me put it this way…we humans live on the surface of Earth, but we are not the only living civilizations that inhabit this planet. Most human beings cannot see Intraterrestial cities because they are composed of higher frequencies of energy. Thus, they are not dense enough to become matter. We currently are in one of them, but there are plenty. Like every living being, each city has its own purpose, and they are all connected to each other.’

‘I don’t understand. If I am in a city that is invisible to human eyes and I am human, why am I here?’

Charles made a pause and smiled.

‘They cannot be seen with human eyes because they are meant to be reached with the heart. What is essential is invisible to the eyes, remember?’ Charles added.

‘Why am I here? Why? I was on my way back home. My parents must be desperate by now. I need to go back’, Charlotte said – she was almost screaming.

Charles made a gesture with his hand and invited Charlotte to sit down on the pillows around a low, circular wooden table. He walked away, and Charlotte was left alone, sitting on the floor. She looked around the house. She could see that there was something special with the plants. She felt that they were indeed alive as if they were smiling at her. She raised her arm to touch one of them…

‘Yes, they can talk. They are truly alive here. They are wonderful creatures’, said Charles walking towards the table with a glass full of water. ‘Here, you must be thirsty….’

Charlotte smiled with a sense of gratitude, drank the water, and waited for Charles to speak up.

‘My dear Charlotte, I will try to guide you on your journey as much as I must. First of all, let me tell you that you shouldn’t worry about your parents. As I said before, you accessed a different dimension meaning that you are experiencing a different time. Right now, you are also on the train going back home. A minute up there is eternity here. But the thing is that you can go back once you discover your purpose here. And that is something I can’t help you with. Because that is something that can only be discovered by oneself.’

Charlotte remained in silence.

‘Do you like to cook? Some friends are coming over for dinner tonight. You will love them. You can stay the night here, and tomorrow morning I will take you to Grandmother Turtle’s house. She will be your guide.’

‘Grandmother Turtle?’ Charlotte asked while widening her eyebrows.

Charles laughed before he answered:

‘Animals talk. Plants and trees talk. Elements like fire and water can communicate as well. The consciousness of the mineral, vegetable, and animal reigns live in the intraterrestrial dimension of the planet, among others.’
